How do we price our photos?What's included in the quote?

Every product we photograph is different. Every client is unique and has different needs and requirements. The scope of our work is different for each contract - it may or may not include creating a visual concept for the photos or for the advertisement, purchasing set design items and props, preparing and decorating dishes and drinks, using specialized software for the project, audio, sound or other effects, renting additional equipment, location, models, more complex image/video processing. Therefore, we can only offer you a quote after we know what types and how many products we will be photographing, what your requirements are for the photos, decorations and props, deadlines for completion, etc. It is difficult to give one price for everyone in advance without knowing exactly what they want to receive. The goal is to be able to offer you a price that will not change later, when we start work. Therefore, before starting the shooting, we insist on having the most specific creative brief (assignment), which becomes an integral part of the contract for photographic services, and which accurately describes the scope of the work and the requirements for the images/video. Any change in the requirements or in the volume of work is subject to additional payment.

The price in our quote is based on several factors:

- the number of products/dishes that you want us to photograph, as well as the number of photos of each individual product. Photographing single or very diverse products may lead to an increase in cost, since each product usually requires a different lighting scheme to be set up, and for a larger volume of uniform products photographed at the same time, we can offer a discount;

- the type of products - transparent and/or reflective materials and packaging require more specific lighting, which may take longer and make the service more expensive;

- when photographing sets and series of products, with an increase in the number of items in the photo, achieving a harmonious composition becomes more difficult, which can lead to an increase in cost. Also, if some of the products are reflective, it may be necessary to photograph them separately and combine them into one photo later, which takes more time;

- the need to prepare the products - products that we receive poorly packaged, dirty or with distorted labels require additional time for both cleaning and preparation, as well as for subsequent processing of the photos;

- the need for more complex retouching of the photos - some products, especially luxury items, such as jewelry, watches and equipment require more complex processing after the photograph is taken, which takes more time and accordingly makes the service more expensive;

- the deadlines for execution - if you want the order to be fulfilled with priority, this may lead to an increase in cost, as overtime may have to be paid.

​​​​​​The prices for product and advertising photography, including food and beverage photography, specified in our offers include:

1. A consultation, during which we will discuss and specify the number of images, the angle of shooting, the background, etc. you need to achieve your commercial and marketing goals in accordance with the budget you have set. We will also comment on the purpose of the photos, the style of the images, the target audience of your brand. We can draw up together the creative brief (assignment) or direct you what information about the desired photos you need to include in it.

2. Selection and, if necessary, provision of appropriate props and backgrounds that will contribute to the best presentation of the product or dish in accordance with the requirements of the creative assignment. We have various elements for decor and background and their use is included in the price of the service. In the case of project-specific props and sets requested by the client that Symmetry Photography does not have, the cost of purchasing them will be added to the price of the service, after which they will be delivered to you, together with the photographed products. The cost of props that, at the client's request, are destroyed during their use will also be added to the price of the service.

3. Preparing the product or preparing the dish for its shooting - this usually includes thoroughly cleaning the product, removing labels that do not need to be visible; preparing and decorating the dish or drink, arranging the stage and decor elements and adjusting the lights.

4. Shooting the products in accordance with the requirements in the creative brief and the shot list  - when necessary with variations, for example, from a different shooting angle, with different orientation of the photo, combinations of products, product details, etc.

5. Processing of photos according to the creative assignment - cropping in accordance with their purpose (for websites, e-commerce platforms, Facebook, Instagram, etc.), cleaning of minor defects, basic image corrections for brightness, contrast, white balance, etc. Revisions of photos due to requirements not specified in the creative assignment are paid additionally. Re-shooting due to a change in the concept or requirements leading to a change in the creative assignment are treated and paid for as a separate order.

6. Uploading the photos to an online album, to which you will receive private access, from where you can download the processed images. Files in raw format are not provided.

7. Standard license for commercial use.

The prices for photography for businesses offering services and for restaurant menus include:

1. Consultation, during which we will discuss and specify how many images, from what angle of shooting, with what background, etc. you need to achieve your commercial and marketing goals in accordance with the budget you have set. We will also comment on the purpose of the photos, the style of the images, the target audience of your brand. We can draw up together the creative assignment or direct you what information about the desired photos you need to include in it.

2. Visit to the client’s location, where the photos will take place, and advise on the best visual presentation of the dishes and drinks, the professionals performing the services and the interior.

3. Providing the necessary equipment and lighting on site for the photos.

4. Shooting of dishes or drinks, the interior, the exterior, the team and individual professionals, the work process, etc. depending on the scope specified in the creative assignment and the list of images.

5. Processing of the photos according to the creative assignment - cropping in accordance with their purpose (for websites, e-commerce platforms, Facebook, Instagram, etc.), cleaning of minor defects, basic image corrections for brightness, contrast, white balance, etc. Revisions of the photos due to requirements not specified in the creative assignment are paid additionally. Re-shooting due to a change in the concept or requirements leading to a change in the creative assignment are treated and paid for as a separate order.

6. Uploading the photos to an online album, to which you will receive private access, from where you can download the processed images. Files in raw format are not provided.

Notes:

1. We only work on the basis of a signed formal contract in order to ensure that the rights of both parties are protected.

2. We start shooting after receiving a 20% advance payment on the agreed order amount, for which you will receive an invoice.

3. For approval of the finished images, you will receive access to an online album containing photos with a reduced size and/or a watermark.

4. You will receive the final photos in full size without a watermark after paying the remaining amount of the order, for which you will receive an invoice with the advance payment deducted.

5. Test photos taken on the basis of a client's request are charged at the regular price.

6. Re-shooting due to a change in the concept by the client is charged as a separate order.

We do not provide services for the design and printing of advertising materials and the creation of websites.
